Voters looking to drown out last-minute midterm elections noise can turn to Spotify for specially curated playlists in every state ahead of Tuesday.
Users of the streaming music service have been prompted with an email and in-app alert sending them to a playlist of songs “uniquely popular” to the state where they live.

The “Get Vocal, Washington” list includes songs from such artists as Kendrick Lamar, Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, Childish Gambino and many more.
It’s not clear what any of those performers or the selected songs have to do with Washington state and it’s likely just music that is attractive to young people — a group that would do well to actually show up and vote in 2018, unlike 2016.
Billboard reported that the New York playlist includes tracks from natives such as Cardi B, Jay Z and Lady Gaga. In Tennessee, there are lots of country hits, and in Alaska the playlist has white noise which is qualified as something to help people “sleep through the midnight sun.”
Spotify began emailing voting-eligible users over the age of 18 last week to encourage them to get out and vote. Along with the playlist link for that user’s state, the email contained a link to find a local polling place.
“Spotify is leveraging its massive reach and presence in its listeners’ lives to send users custom notifications,” a press release said, according to Rolling Stone.
