AWS Elemental is set to increase its presence in Portland, signing a lease to take over space in a building scheduled to be completed later this fall.

The deal, first reported by Portland Business Journal, was confirmed by AWS Elemental. Amazon will take over several floors — a total of around 85,000 square feet — of the under-construction Broadway Tower in downtown Portland, which is across the street from its current digs.

Don’t worry, HQ2 obsessives: this does not appear to be at all related to Amazon’s HQ2 process. But it does signal that Amazon is ready to expand its presence in some fashion in Portland, as Amazon Web Services continues to grow; it will certainly be a nice place from which to negotiate new chip supplier deals with Intel representatives based through the tunnel to Hillsboro.

AWS Elemental serves media companies that have grown tired of maintaining their own data centers and who want to stream video from the cloud, helping them scale with spikes in demand and other tricky aspects of streaming live video to the world. The homegrown startup co-founded by the late Sam Blackman was acquired by AWS for $296 million in 2015.
