There are plenty of pretty sights to take in around Seattle, but for about a week near the end of March, few are prettier than the quad at the University of Washington when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.

If you can’t get away from work or make it to the UW, let YouTube serve as a branch office of sorts. A live stream from UWTV offers a bird’s-eye view of the trees and the criss-crossing paths with Savery Hall in the background.

Just open a browser window and pretend you’ve got a window seat in one of the buildings on the quad.

Students, visitors, photographers and selfie-takers mingle about beneath the pale pink flowers, which are an iconic fixture on the UW campus.

The trees’ self-promotion doesn’t stop on YouTube. The @uwcherryblossom Twitter feed also keeps folks up to date on when to expect prime viewing to take place.

“Photosynthesizer, tree hugger, ubiquitous selfie backdrop, pretty in pink, signaler of spring at the University of Washington since the 1960s,” reads the profile on the page.
