Bill Gates already does a good job of blogging about his adventures around the world through his Gates Notes website, and now the Microsoft co-founder has joined Instagram to further showcase his work.
The billionaire philanthropist’s feed, @thisisbillgates, went live on Friday and quickly attracted thousands of followers. As of Sunday morning, 158,000 people were following Gates.
His first post was a gallery of three images from Tanazania — and like a true Instagram pro, he even managed to get a food photo in there.
The gallery had more than 63,000 likes and more than 5,000 comments.
“Melinda and I have been coming to Tanzania for many years now. I always love seeing how much progress the country has made to improve health and provide opportunity. Plus, the scenery is stunning.”
Gates is following 25 people right now, including his wife Melinda, as well as Richard Branson, Mark Zuckerberg, Roger Federer, NASA, Sheryl Sandberg, Mike Bloomberg and more. Pretty sure he’s going to follow GeekWire any minute!
Melinda Gates is already an Instagram veteran, and she was delighted that her husband had come into the social fold. She welcomed him with a perfect throwback photo of the couple:
