Bellevue-based DimensionalMechanics wants to bring cutting-edge artificial intelligence models to companies across different industries that can’t afford to develop their own AI expertise, and it thinks its NeoPulse AI Studio is the right vehicle.

DimensionalMechanics co-founder and CEO Rajeev Dutt

The 11-person startup has been building AI templates for companies to use in their own applications, but realized that there was growing demand for the engine that builds those templates: the NeoPulse AI Studio, said Rajeev Dutt, CEO and co-founder of DimensionalMechanics. It plans to license the AI Studio to companies to use with their on-premises infrastructure, and a cloud-friendly version will be released soon, he said.

The company has been working primarily with customers in the media industry, who, believe it or not, generally don’t have the resources or expertise to set up their own machine-learning systems, Dutt said. The models created by NeoPulse AI Studio have been used to sort images and rank headlines for media companies looking to increase traffic to their sites, and they can also detect inappropriate content inadvertently placed in the background of an image or video.

But it’s not just the struggling media industry that could use a little AI help: Dutt wouldn’t name names, but said the company is working with a network infrastructure provider and has also seen some interest from government agencies.

The studio product will allow all of these companies to build their own templates for incorporating artificial intelligence into their products, and tweak some of basic templates to better reflect their own needs, Dutt said. Pricing depends on the size of the organization, but there is a free trial version for developers that want to start playing around with the product.

DimensionalMechanics has now raised a total of $6.7 million in funding, adding $2 million in funding from angel investors over the last year. It plans to raise a Series B round later this year from the venture capital community.
