Memorial Day weekend travelers sitting in traffic, at least on the coast of Massachusetts, may catch a glimpse of Uber riders flying overhead who took advantage of a promotion from UberAIR this week.
The ride-sharing company ran a deal on Monday that allowed users to purchase a one-way ticket from Boston to Nantucket for $300. Passengers will be able to skip security lines at Logan International Airport on Friday and hang out in the private Blade lounge.
“There’s no traffic 1,000 feet in the air — you’ll be on the island in under an hour,” Uber said in a blog post.
Uber was also throwing in a ride to and from the airport, with a return from the island 30 minutes south of Cape Cod back to Boston scheduled for Monday.
Blade’s normal price for the service to Nantucket is $495, according to the Boston Globe. The cost for a car and passenger on a ferry out of Hyannis is $218.50, one way.
