The videos surfaced just a couple weeks before a big Microsoft event, at which the company is expected to announce a new Surface PC and possibly Windows 10 news. The videos show a simple mechanism for creating and editing 3D art using a digital pen with Paint, one of the oldest Microsoft products.
These new Paint features could be a preview of how Microsoft’s mixed reality HoloLens device will interact with existing Microsoft programs. Other virtual/augmented reality programs like Google’s Tilt Brush for the HTC Vive and the Oculus Quill have a similar 3D art function.
