stranger-anp-finalFifty years ago, dozens of artists and engineers in New York City collaborated to present “9 Evenings,” an event that integrated cutting edge technology of the day with some of the time’s most prolific art.

The iconic show unleashed an era of increased collaboration between the arts and the sciences, and starting Friday Seattle will host 9e2, a week-long exhibition in the historic King Street Station, to commemorate the original 9 evenings and display collaborations between local artists and scientists that continue its rich tradition.

The event will take place from October 21 to the 29, and includes art installations as well as a series of talks, performances, and other events that touch on everything from sculptures of proteins to ceramic representations of 4-dimensional objects.

Passes to the main installations, as well as tickets to individual events, are available here, and also check out the history of 9 Evenings here.
