Fans of true crime television who couldn’t get enough of the popular Netflix series “Making a Murderer” or ESPN’s “O.J.: Made in America,” have a new Netflix documentary to watch for this month. And two new trailers for the film “Amanda Knox” showcase the divisive nature of the Seattle woman’s decade-long saga.

Knox, the former University of Washington student, became a global sensation after she was twice convicted and twice acquitted by Italian courts in the 2007 killing of her British roommate, Meredith Kercher. Knox spent four years in an Italian prison, and Netflix says its film “sheds new light on the events and circumstances of the past nine years.”

In a trailer titled “Believe her,” Knox is teary-eyed and at a loss for words. Crime-scene images and news headlines flash on the screen, along with pictures of her former co-defendant and ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito.

In the “Suspect her” trailer, Knox is portrayed as more steely-eyed and images of her kissing Sollecito act to counter the serious charges she was facing.

“That’s everyone’s nightmare,” Knox says in the clip. “Either I’m a psychopath in sheep’s clothing … or I am you.”

“Amanda Knox” was directed by Rod Blackhurst (“Here Alone”) and Brian McGinn (“Chef’s Table”) and is coming to Netflix Sept. 30.
