Avengers: Age of Ultron just came out — 75 percent fresh, according to Rotten Tomatoes — but the makers are already talking about shooting the next one.

And the next two, Avengers: Infinity War — Parts 1 & 2, will be shot on IMAX cameras, according to Variety, making them the first films in history to do so.

Directors Anthony and Joe Russo will use the 2D IMAX camera to shoot about 15 minutes of footage for Captain America: Civil War as a warm up for the big game, Variety reports.

The Russos are going to spend the next 15 months or so designing the making of the Avengers films with these cameras in mind,” Greg Foster, Imax Entertainment CEO, told Variety. “They’re not looking at this a week before they start filming or only focusing on an important section of the film. This is something that’s never happened before.”

While other films, including Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Batman v. Superman and Interstellar, have used IMAX cameras, an entire film has yet to be shot on them. IMAX calls them the “highest resolution cameras in the world…allowing the picture to expand to fill the entire screen and provide an even more immersive experience,” according to their site.

Should be interesting. Avengers: Infinity War — Part 1 is due out 2018.
