Money has always equalled power, but teaching kids about the importance of how the economy works is something that tends to fall behind “fuzzy” math these days in most schools. That’s perhaps one reason why Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s Vulcan Productions is releasing a series of short films called We the Economy to help teach kids about economics.

With the tagline “20 short films you can’t afford to miss,” Allen’s company worked with executive producer Morgan Spurlock of Super Size Me fame and Films Media Group to create the series. Each short features a different world-class director, and several celebrity cameos and voiceovers, including Patton Oswalt and Judah Friedlander, punchy graphics and animation, and skits to explain the economy in fun, easy-to-understand chunks. Best part? All the films can be downloaded for free.

The production and storytelling quality on the trailer is so excellent that I plan to watch these, too. View the trailer and let us know what you think:
