XboxApp_ChannelHomeScreenFor those of us who can’t get enough first-person videos of crazy people doing extraordinary things, the Xbox is bringing more of them our living rooms.

Microsoft announced today that it’s teaming up with wearable camera maker GoPro to produce video channel apps for Xbox Live Gold subscribers on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The apps will provide users with curated video content shot with the rugged cameras.

XboxApp_StoreHomeScreen620Judging from the viral videos that the GoPro has already helped enable, users can expect a wide variety of incredible videos, including a look at what it’s like to be carried by a seagull, and soar with a wingsuit.

“Our GoPro Channel app will make it easy for millions of global Xbox Live customers to watch GoPro originally-produced and ‘best of’ user-generated content on their televisions at home,” GoPro CEO Nicholas Woodman said in a press release. “We’re excited to align ourselves with Microsoft and the Xbox brand as we believe our customers share the same desire to enjoy the type of immersive, experiential content that our cameras enable.”

However, Xbox owners are going to have something of a wait ahead of them. The GoPro app for Xbox 360 is slated for launch this spring, while Xbox One users will have to wait until summer to get their fix of extreme video.
