screen568x568T-Mobile will be offering customers free access to the MLB At Bat mobile app from now until September, according to a post by a member of the company’s support staff. That means people will be able to get access to the bulk of the regular season, save for the games that have already been played. If they want to track playoff games using the app, though, they’ll need to pay up in October.

The company hasn’t announced anything official yet, so it’s unclear exactly what the deal entails, but users are already reporting that they have received emails informing them of the promotion. Access to the app, which includes streaming radio broadcasts for every game as well as video highlights, normally costs $2.99 a month, or $20 a season.

People interested in taking advantage of the promotion can open up the app, and they should be prompted to redeem their free season, according to a report by iMore.

It’s similar to a promotion the Bellevue-based carrier offered its customers last year, though they only offered one month of the service rather than access to the regular season.

The offer is a move that makes sense for T-Mobile, since the company sponsors Major League Baseball. It’s a nice perk for subscribers to the carrier, which announced last week that it added 2.4 million customers in the first quarter of this year.

The MLB At Bat app is available from the iOS App Store and the Google Play Store.

T-Mobile declined to comment on this report.
