You know, sometimes you just need to take a break from all the holiday cooking, cleaning, shopping, planning and stressing. Here’s some upcoming holiday-free events picked from the GeekWire calendar. These events are chock-full of information, education and inspiration, just what you need as you prepare to move ahead into 2014. (P.S. Don’t worry, there’s still plenty of holiday partying to do!)
— Startup Grind Seattle Hosts Sandi Lin: This sounds like a good one. CEO and co founder of Everpath, Sandi Lin, will be sharing stories and giving advice at this informative talk being held at Dice Cabana.
When: Monday, December 9th. 6 pm – 9 pm. Seattle.
— DevCon5: This one’s worth the trip, and I’m sure plenty of Pacific Northwesterns are going down to DevCon5. This is a hands on, two-day developer conference where engineers, designers and architects can discuss and learn.
When: Tuesday, December 10th – Wednesday, December 11th. All day. Los Angeles.
— SeattleWiki Write-a-thon: This sounds fun, and quite possibly the ultimate nerdy thing to do! Celebrate a year of SeattleWiki by adding and editing wiki pages with other coders. Food and drink provided.
When: Wednesday, December 11th. 5:45 pm – 9 pm. Seattle.
— Women in Wireless: Have a glass of wine and help plan the Women in Wireless 2014 events with the mobile and digital community, great way to get a peek into what’s coming up.
When: Wednesday, December 11th. 5 pm – 7 pm. Seattle.
— Power of Networking: Code Chix presents the Power of Networking, an event for anyone in the tech industry (or looking to get in) who wants to meet other like-minded individuals. Hang out in the beautiful WhitePages offices, enjoy a tasty beverage and snag some nifty prizes all while meeting the fabulous women in tech.
When: Wednesday, December 12th. 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Seattle.
