Last week GeekWire invited members of the Seattle tech community to make a pitch to win a sponsor table at the gdgt live event next Friday, Aug. 5, at the Showbox SoDo in Seattle. We received a great mix of entries from startups and developers, all of them worthy of being showcased.

Today we’re pleased to announce the winner, as selected by the gdgt team: Headshot, a virtual laser tag app being developed for Windows Phone, which will get a chance to show off its project to the crowd at the free event. The project was the winner of the recent AT&T Mobile App Hackathon. Its technical lead, Preetum Nakkiran, is a senior at Redmond High School.

The gdgt live event runs from 7 to 10 p.m. It’s free and all-ages. Be sure to register to attend here.

A bunch of top tech companies will be there providing a glimpse of their best up-and-coming stuff. If you went last year, you know it’s not to be missed. GeekWire will be there, as well, and we’re planning something fun. (More details on that and the rest of the event next week.)

Looking forward to seeing everyone there next Friday!
