A virtual reality film festival is making a stop in Seattle on its 10-city tour and it looks pretty amazing.

The traveling VR Film Festival, presented by San Francisco-based VR agency Kaleidoscope, starts in Portland, Ore., on Aug. 22, then continues across North America, landing in Seattle on Aug. 26.

The tour will “showcase the best in virtual reality filmmaking and the top artists working in this cutting edge field,” according to a Kaleidoscope release via email. All films will be by independent VR artists. See the list of films here.

“The aim of the Kaleidoscope film festival is to create a space for independent artists and audiences alike to discuss, connect and experience virtual reality films and to keep the conversation going,” said Kaleidoscope co-founder Michael Breymann in a release. “The line-up we have selected showcases today’s best and brightest VR filmmakers, and we are thrilled to share these immersive and interactive stories with audiences as the festival tours around North America.”

While the number of films being screened and event space is still TBD for the Seattle event, every stop will include talks and demos from VR filmmakers and those in the industry. For Seattle so far, those talks will feature Tyler Hurd, director of BUTTS, “an animated cartoon for Virtual Reality about anxiety, depression, and lots and lots of jiggling butts,” and Lee Bledsoe, founder of Real Life, a production company that specializes in 360 video capture.

Audience members at all stops will also get to experience VR gear from Samsung and the Oculus VR headsets.

You can buy tickets online now, which range from $10 for students to a $99 VIP package experience.
