titanfallThe pivotal video-game Titanfall will be delayed by an additional two weeks for Microsoft’s older Xbox 360 console, until April 8 in North America and April 11 in Europe — a full month after the game’s March 11 debut for the new Xbox One.

Titanfall publisher Electronic Arts announced the additional delay this morning, saying it wanted to give Bluepoint Games, which is working on the Xbox 360 version, more time to work on the game. Titanfall for Xbox 360 had originally been slated to coincide with the Xbox One version, before being pushed back to March 25, and now by an additional two weeks. The Xbox One version was developed by Respawn Entertainment.

EA executive Patrick Soderlund wrote in a post this morning, “I’ve been playing the game a lot, and it is fantastic.  But we see a few things that can be made even better, so we’re giving Bluepoint a little more time to do just that and deliver an epic Titanfall experience for Xbox 360 players. Titanfall for Xbox 360 will now be releasing on April 8 in North America, and beginning on April 11 in Europe.  The game will feature the same 6v6 gameplay, maps, modes, weapons and Burn Cards as the Xbox One and PC versions of the game.”

Microsoft has promised to continue supporting Xbox 360 users, but it will be an interesting test of Titanfall’s pull among gamers to see if this delay causes an increase in Xbox One sales over the remainder of the month.
