SUMMARY:🔋 State of Charge: The PNWBC Inaugural Benefit Gala
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Pacific Northwest Battery Collaborative’s first-ever benefit gala: an afternoon of programming\, connection\, and celebration with the people building the PNW into North America’s leading hub of battery innovation. \nWhy now\nIn under two years\, this community has grown from a single meetup of 130 people into the largest battery association in the Pacific Northwest: \n1\,450+ members across Washington\, Oregon\, and British Columbia \n30 in-person events with more than 1\,500 attendees \nAn official 501(c)(3) nonprofit as of January 2026 \nThe Battery Life — the first-ever docuseries showcasing the pioneers of the energy storage industry \nOneWashington\, connecting the battery leaders of Western and Eastern Washington \nA searchable directory of 1\,000+ PNW battery experts \nAll of it volunteer-run. All of it built by this community. \nOur goal: $30\,000\nEverything raised at goes directly to expanding PNWBC programming\, more events in more cities\, hands-on education like our Build Your Own Battery workshops\, new episodes of The Battery Life\, and the initiatives that connect entrepreneurs\, scientists\, policymakers\, and students across our region. \nProgram (2:00–6:00 PM)\n2:00 — Doors open · networking · light refreshments \n2:45 — Welcome & State of the Collaborative \n3:05 — Program updates from PNWBC leadership \n3:25 — Remarks from a special guest (to be announced) \n3:35 — The Battery Life: exclusive sampler screening \n3:45 — Panel: The Women Powering the Battery Industry featuring: April Li\, Senior Battery Cell Engineer\, Microsoft; Dr. Corrie Cobb\, Professor of Mechanical Engineering\, University of Washington; Nicole Grant\, Director of Government Affairs\, IBEW Local #46 \n4:30 — Battery Bingo \n4:45 — Networking & refreshments until 6:00 \nDetails\nAttire: business casual \nLight refreshments served (local beer\, soft drinks\, cheeses\, small bites) \nHosted at the headquarters of our partner\, the CleanTech Alliance — 1301 5th Ave\, Suite 1500\, Seattle\, WA 98101 \nTickets (suggested donation based)\nChampion — $250: One ticket\, plus an above-and-beyond contribution to the mission. Recognized with our thanks at the event. \nPremium — $100: One ticket\, plus one year of first right of refusal for ticket-capped PNWBC events (lab tours\, site visits\, and other events that sell out). \nGeneral — $65: One ticket. Come celebrate with us. \nDonate What You Can: For students\, those between roles\, and anyone for whom cost is a barrier. \nCan’t attend?\nYou can still power the work — donate here! \nAbout the PNWBC\nThe Pacific Northwest Battery Collaborative is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit with one mission: make the PNW the leading hub of battery innovation for the nation. We connect the entrepreneurs\, researchers\, policymakers\, and enthusiasts driving energy storage forward across Washington\, Oregon\, and British Columbia. The PNWBC is the region’s largest battery-focused community organization with 1\,400+ participants. Follow our LinkedIn page to learn about battery innovations & opportunities in the PNW and join the 1\,400+ other collaborators who subscribe to our events calendar. \nPNWBC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law; the deductible portion of your ticket is the amount above the fair market value of refreshments received. A receipt will be provided. \nThe Context of this Event\nEnergy storage has moved from the margins to the heart of the global energy conversation\, and the numbers prove it. The world added a record 108 GW of new battery capacity in 2025\, roughly 40% more than the year before\, making batteries the fastest-growing power technology on the planet. The Pacific Northwest is right in the thick of it. Last summer\, Portland General Electric brought 475 MW of new battery capacity online across the Portland metro\, and this year the 200 MW/800 MWh Greenwater project near Tacoma is set to energize the grid for Puget Sound Energy. The momentum reaches every corner of our region\, east to Washington\, where Avista has selected a 100 MW storage project of its own\, and north to British Columbia\, where BC Hydro’s new clean-power plan is weighing utility-scale battery storage of up to 400 MW. Across our region and around the world\, batteries are fast becoming core infrastructure.
