DESCRIPTION:A free two-day “How to Land Your First Job” bootcamp presented by SciPhD for scientists moving into industry\, hosted and underwritten by Bristol Myers Squibb. It is aimed at graduate students and doctoral candidates\, postdoctoral fellows\, recent PhD graduates and experienced scientists making the transition to industry roles. \nThe format is hands-on practice\, simulations and case studies rather than lecture-style career programming. Modules cover entrepreneurial thinking and commercialization\, the business of science and its 24 core professional competencies\, communications for scientists\, networking\, team leadership\, project management\, behavioral-based interviews and negotiations. \nDay one runs 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closes with a Bristol Myers Squibb networking reception from 5 to 6 p.m. Day two covers behavioral interviews\, leadership\, project management and negotiations.
