Overview

Salesforce’s Security team is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to help secure the world’s #1 CRM. You will be responsible for building, implementing and operationally supporting network security, while also being hands-on in developing and automating secure software throughout our network.  You will design, build, and maintain an ever-changing complex architecture of network security systems and devices across multiple environments that support the needs of our internal and external customers. You will also be responsible for utilizing established scripting skills to create, and maintain, automation tools to simplify and expedite the ongoing management of these systems.

 

Responsibilities:

Implementation and evolution of network access controls
Iterate network security posture to better protect against attacks and detect new vectors
Lead network efforts to mitigate and investigate security incidents
Develop automation and utilize frameworks to scale both protection and mitigation tools
Evaluate and test new vendor and in house network initiatives for security issue
Mentor and evangelize security practices through cross-functional work with engineering teams throughout Salesforce
Keep Salesforce safe through active operation and defense of critical network infrastructure
Minimum Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in Network Security, preferably in a large scale environment
Working knowledge of JunOS, IOS, stateful firewall platforms, and networking
Background in network service, content provider operation, or larger scale hosting
Understanding of current security issues and threats
Understanding of Python, Shell or Perl in order to push software and network interaction
Understanding of risks that can manifest in larger scale complex systems
Desired Skills:

Prior understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
Experience with multi-tiered mission-critical systems
Worked in a Zero Downtime environment
Solid hands-on technical background particularly in managing highly complex, multi-platform environments (servers, storage, networks, security, virtualization, systems monitoring and management)
ISO 27001, PCI, HITRUST, SOC, FISMA, FedRAMP knowledge
Familiar with network analysis tools (wireshark, tcpdump, etc)
Gigamon, Lancope, Fortinet, F5 Load Balancers, ACLs (software defined), and Certificate managment/provisioning
Security related certifications such as OSCP, GCIH, GCIA, GPEN, GPPA, CCNP, CCNP Security, CCIE Security
