Overview

About this role

Tin Can is hiring a customer experience director to turn a scrappy support operation into a real system — at a company whose customers are parents handing a kid their first phone.

Tin Can has grown quickly — and that means its customer experience needs to evolve from a highly hands-on, scrappy operation into a world-class, scalable system that can support customers across products, channels, and countries. As the posting frames it: when an order gets lost in the mail, a Tin Can won’t activate, or a call drops, that’s not a small bug for the family on the other end — it’s the moment they find out whether they made the right call trusting us with their kid’s first phone. The Director of Customer Experience owns that moment and everything around it: the end-to-end customer experience when someone buys a Tin Can, from fulfillment through activation, troubleshooting, and ongoing support, plus the team and systems behind it.

The role asks for 8+ years leading customer experience or support operations, including real experience working on a connected hardware product. Location Type: On-site, Seattle.

Compensation $160K – $180K • Offers Equity • Full benefits package.

About Tin Can

Tin Can is building a safer, simpler way for kids to connect — without smartphones. The company makes screen-free devices and services that let families call the people who matter most, free from the noise of today’s digital world, and describes its brand as bold, authentic, nostalgic and kinda quirky — aimed at people who want something simpler and better for their kids than the tech-infused lives we’re currently living.
