Principal / Senior Software Test Engineer

Overview

BRINC Drones is striving to help all first responders by making products that quickly and effectively respond to 911 calls. Our vision is to have a mesh drone network system that responds to a 911 call in seconds rather than minutes or hours. This allows our responders to have a real-time view of what’s happening whether it be a fire, medical emergency, crime in progress, or search & rescue. This vision is already in the works with a product called LEMUR which helps SWAT teams safely enter a building without putting the suspect or officers in danger. We are seeking a talented Software Test Engineer to build and maintain our cloud software test infrastructure to guarantee a high quality product to allow first responders to always respond to 911 calls within seconds.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain end to end testing for all web app features
Develop software and onboard new infrastructure services to ensure high quality testing environments
Spec and produce reports for testing to ensure qualified software goes into production
Work closely with cloud and device software developers to scope which features to test, and test desired implementations

Basic Requirements

5+ years experience with software test
Experience functional testing to ensure testing prior to release
Experience with end to end testing and reporting frameworks to effectively feedback test results
Experience with quick prototyping of software test implementations
Strong communication and documentation skills
Bachelor degree in engineering, computer science, or similar degree / experience

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience starting end to end testing from scratch and dealing with highly ambiguous environments like a startup.
Experience feeding back software test failures to respective team
Experience with testing cloud platforms that interact with hardware
TypeScript, Linux and bash experience
