Prince Opening Party

April 5 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Dearly beloved . . .

Join us as we celebrate the opening of our newest exhibition, Prince from Minneapolis with special guests, art experiences, live music, and gallery access.

Suggested Dress Code: Purple & White

LET’S GO CRAZY
Get the live Prince experience with Purple Mane, Seattle’s Prince tribute band that captures the essence, theatrics, and sexiness of the enigmatic artist while serving you every guitar lick, screaming falsetto, and pelvic thrust.

DJ Sirjuan will spin a contemporary mix of Prince inspired sounds and artists to highlight Prince’s continued influence on today’s music across many genres: think covers such as Genuwine’s “When Doves Cry”, samples such as Jay Z and Pharrell’s “Excuse Me Miss”, and music from some of proteges including Janelle Monae.

MUSICOLOGY
Hear the stories behind the artist at our Q&A with special guest DJ Kevin Cole. As Prince’s private party DJ, Cole will share his unique vantage point and connection to Prince and the music he created.

PURPLE RAIN
Step inside Prince’s world with our massive Purple Rain-inspired photo op.

SOMETHING IN THE WATER
After leaving the dance floor, cool down with specialty cocktails like the Raspberry Beret, Little Red Corvette, and the Purple Rain.

BABY I’M A STAR
Let your rock star shine with hair and makeup inspired by Prince’s eclectic style curated by Bang Hair Salon.

4EVER
Contribute to the custom mural alongside renowned muralist Craig Cundiff and Seattle artist Barry Johnson as they create a mural intended to capture the essence and likeness of Prince. The piece will move to the KEXP’s Gathering Space after the opening weekend.

NOTHING COMPARES 2 U
It’s said that Prince’s glyph entered his consciousness during meditation. The icon combines elements of astrological symbols for male and female in a form that resembled a scepter. Design a symbol that represents you and your work in our art space.
