About the presenter:
Alison Carmel Ramer is a digital rights defender, writer, researcher and advocate. She has worked at the intersection of social change, technology and human rights in the Middle East and North Africa for the past ten years with a number of local and international organizations including World Vision, Oxfam and the Europea Union among others. Following her time at Codefellows in 2017, she returned to the Middle East to support the development of the tech startup eco-system in Palestine and Jordan. Today she advocates for Palestinian digital rights at international forums including RightsCon, the United Nations Human Rights Council and the United Nations Internet Governance Forum among others. An alumni of Codefellows, she utilizes her understanding of software and the Internet to address human rights issues.
