Terry Boyle has been appointed the new president and CEO of Seattle-based online retailer Zulily, in a move announced Monday by parent company Qurate Retail Inc.

Boyle succeeds Jeff Yurcisin, the former Amazon executive and Shopbop CEO who took over at Zulily in May 2018 for longtime CEO and co-founder Darrell Cavens.

A Zulily spokesperson said Yurcisin made the decision to resign effective Feb. 1.

Boyle has had a long career in retail and e-commerce, including at Nordstrom, which he joined after the Seattle-based retailer acquired HauteLook in 2011. At Nordstrom, Boyle led the design and launch of Nordstromrack.com and served as president of Nordstromrack.com and HauteLook.

In 2017, he also took on the role of president of Trunk Club, a Nordstrom division that focused on in-person and online personal styling services.

Most recently, Boyle co-founded and led Behold, a startup with backing from former Zillow CEO Spencer Rascoff among others, which focused on using artificial intelligence and personal styling to innovate the women’s shopping experience online.

“Terry brings a blend of deep retail, brand and e-commerce experience, a track record of driving growth, and entrepreneurial instincts,” Quarate President and CEO David Rawlinson II said in a news release. “I’m looking forward to his fresh perspective and leadership as the company looks to return to growth and refines its delivery of compelling, personalized digital experiences for Zulily’s customers.”

Before joining Zulily, Yurcisin spent 14 years as an executive and director at Amazon, leading several of the company’s clothing retail efforts. He was VP of Softline Private Brands, Amazon’s private fashion labels, and formerly served as the VP of all Amazon clothing. He also spent seven years as the CEO of subsidiary Shopbop, an online clothing retailer that Amazon bought in 2006.

Zulily went public in 2013 and was acquired by Qurate for $2.4 billion in August 2015.

West Chester, Pa.-based Qurate Retail Group comprises seven retail brands — QVC, HSN, Zulily, Ballard Designs, Frontgate, Garnet Hill and Grandin Road.
