Today’s the day! We’re looking forward to welcoming 500 geeks to our annual summer rooftop BBQ and Sounders Day party.
The festivities kick off at 4 p.m. with a pre-match BBQ at the Pioneer Square headquarters of First Mode (542 1st Ave South Suite 300) — just footsteps away from Lumen Field. We’ll enjoy the stunning views, cool swag, surprise guest appearances, cold beverages and yummy BBQ. Then we’ll march to the match at 6:45 p.m. to cheer on the Rave Green.
The weather looks excellent as clouds are expected to burn off later today, making way for a sunny afternoon with temperatures just over 70 degrees — perfect rooftop deck weather.

Sounders Day location: The amazing rooftop deck at First Mode, located at 542 1st Avenue South, Suite 300, in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood.
What time does the party start? Doors will open at 4 p.m. Get there early. We are sold out, and you’ll want to get your prime rooftop position and yummy BBQ. GeekWire co-founder John Cook will interview a special guest with strong Sounders’ roots starting just after 5 p.m. We will hang out on the roof until just before 7 p.m., and then head over to the Sounders match.
Parking: Street parking is available on several of the surrounding streets, please check for game day street closures that may impact availability of street parking. Several pay lots and garage options are within a 2-minute walk of the venue (see map).
Food and beverages: We’ve got an awesome BBQ planned, as well as a fantastic array of beverages. Come hungry, and thirsty!
Can kids attend? Unfortunately, no. This is a 21+ event.
Can dogs attend? Sorry, we love canines, but no dogs are permitted.
How will I receive my tickets to the match? All tickets are delivered electronically. Tickets were sent to the email that was used during your registration on Eventbrite. Check your inbox for an email from Ticketmaster, and if you can’t locate it check your spam folder. Any issues, email us at events@geekwire.com.

Match day tickets: If you’d still like to support the Sounders and attend the match, visit the Sounders’ website. The GeekWire sections in the stadium are: 100, 101 and 147, if you want to try to sit with the geeks.
Pandemic precautions: Given the current COVID situation, we’ve not fully returned to normal, so we are taking extra precautions for those who attend the pre-game party and the match. Proof of vaccination — either physical or digital cards — must be shown to enter the party. In addition, we’ll take temperature checks upon arrival to First Mode, provide ample hand sanitizer, require indoor masking and direct most of the activities at the event to the beautiful outdoor spaces.
