CreativeLive, the Seattle-based company which teaches online classes in photography, video, design, music and more, is acquiring Wildist, another online provider specializing in courses for outdoor and adventure photography.

Founded in 2010, CreativeLive was itself acquired last year by Fiverr, a platform that connects businesses with freelancers offering a variety of digital services. CreativeLive runs as a standalone organization.

CreativeLive founder and CEO Chase Jarvis said in a news release that his company’s “roots run deep in photography” and it’s where his “true passion lies.”

“Acquiring Wildist.co and its content highlights our ongoing commitment to this space and to ensuring the future success of photographers everywhere,” Jarvis said. “Photography is also an important and robust category on Fiverr, and so there is an incredible opportunity for photographers to learn new skills through new CreativeLive content, and then monetize their new skills on the Fiverr platform.”

Wildist was founded in 2018 by photographer Alex Strohl and brand innovator Laura Schmalstieg. The company will be folded into CreativeLive and Wildist students will have full access to workshops and subscriptions through the CreativeLive platform.
