— Smart home startup Wyze Labs named Francis Lee as its first chief financial officer.
A longtime Nike exec, Lee was most recently head of Global Marketing Finance for the athletic retail giant and previously served as CFO for Nike Japan, among other roles.
Based in Kirkland, Wash., Wyze Labs rolled out a bevy of new products last year and raised a Series A round.
— Robson Grieve, chief marketing officer at OutSystems, an enterprise application development and deployment company, is relocating to Seattle from San Francisco.
Grieve is a former Concur executive who joined OutSystems in April. He previously served as CMO at Pure Storage, New Relic and Citrix.
OutSystems, founded 19 years ago in Lisbon, Portugal and headquartered in Boston, closed a $150 million round this week. The round was co-led by Abdiel Capital and Tiger Global and values OutSystems at $9.5 billion. The company both competes and partners with cloud giants Amazon and Microsoft.
Last year, OutSystems hired three new executives in the Seattle region — all Microsoft veterans — as part of its U.S. expansion.
— Lisa Nelson, former managing director of Microsoft’s venture fund M12, is now a venture partner at Flying Fish Partners. She originally teamed up with the Seattle-based venture capital firm last year as an advisor.
— Cloud-based IT management company Apptio announced Kevin Meeks as chief customer officer.
Meeks spent nearly a decade at Splunk, a publicly-traded data platform based out of San Francisco. He was most recently VP of global customer success and renewals.
After going public in 2016, Apptio went through a private equity buyout in 2019. Led by co-founder and CEO Sunny Gupta, Apptio recently completed its fourth acquisition, buying enterprise agile planning startup Targetprocess.
— Construction technology platform Katerra appointed Kris Beason as head of Pacific Northwest construction for the SoftBank-backed California company. She will be responsible for Katerra’s team and project delivery for the region, including scaling factory-built multifamily housing and mass timber projects.
Beason was previously a VP at HITT Contracting Inc. She succeeds Greg Smith, also based in Seattle, who will now lead Katerra’s multifamily residential platform.
— Seattle search engine optimization company Moz hired Tom Capper as senior search scientist to expand its SEO research. Based in the UK, Capper previously led the SEO practice at Distilled, which merged with Brainlabs.
“Tom has proven his mastery of search science through research that has had a meaningful impact on the SEO community for years,” said Moz CEO Sarah Bird.
— Kirkland, Wash.-based DigniFi, a tech platform for financing auto repairs, announced Kevin Yu as its new chief technology officer.
A Microsoft veteran, Yu was most recently CTO of fitness tech startup JAXJOX and was an engineering leader at Azuqua and, following its acquisition, Okta.
Last year, DigniFi raised a $14 million Series A round. Yu will be responsible for re-platforming the startup’s Expressway product to support its growth.

- Ryan Cudney was promoted to general manager of the Pacific Northwest for global communications firm Edelman. He was previously EVP of business transformation in Chicago and served as global chief of staff to CEO Richard Edelman. Former Pacific Northwest GM Melissa Nelson is now managing director of integrated client leadership.
- Seattle-based WineBid, an online auction site for fine wines, appointed Zulily alum Marty Sparks as director of engineering.
- Kirkland, Wash.-based Adaptiva, a provider of endpoint management and security solutions, hired Ryan Oliaee as senior sales director for U.S. federal and state government. He is based in Washington, D.C.
- Elevate Capital Venture Partner and Troy Medicare CTO Lateef Jackson joined the board of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Oregon chapter.
- Seattle digital design and development agency Substantial appointed former Johnson & Johnson manager Wilma Lam as associate director of strategy.
