Sizing up new talent virtually will be a tough endeavor for many NFL teams that are forced to be apart because of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. The Seattle Seahawks got a look at one guy on Thursday and at least they know he’ll be funny.
Actor Will Ferrell crashed a Seahawks video chat featuring numerous players and coaches, including quarterback Russell Wilson and head coach Pete Carroll. He was introduced as new tight end Greg Olsen, who the team picked up during the off season from the Carolina Panthers.
Ferrell, as Olsen, spelled out a number of ways he intends to help the team win this season, including by drawing up all of his own plays, not protecting on pass plays and never playing special teams.
He also lifted his Seahawks jersey to reveal a “36-year-old body” honed by nothing but yoga.
“You might want to work on that core a little bit before you get here,” Carroll said, laughing.
