Health technology company Accolade landed Dr. Shantanu Nundy as chief medical officer. Nundy formerly worked on digital health initiatives for the World Bank and was director of the nonprofit Human Diagnosis Project, which uses machine learning to “map the best steps to help any patient.”

“As a physician, I see relationships and personalized support as central to high quality healthcare and as an engineer, I see the potential for intelligent technologies to simplify the complexity of healthcare and augment healthcare professionals. What drew me to Accolade is that they are already delivering both at scale and bending the cost curve and delighting patients as a result,” Dr. Nundy said in a statement.

Accolade recently brought in a $20 million investment from Humana amid a rapid expansion that promises to double its headcount in the Seattle area.

Apptio hired Anton van Deth as chief marketing officer of the cost analysis software firm. Van Deth was most recently a marketing executive at Informatica and has also held senior roles at Red Hat and Symantec.

“The fundamental IT operating model has changed and complexity has exploded in the wake of cloud-first strategies and agile delivery models. Apptio is the only company in the world perfectly situated to address these challenges and I look forward to working with Sunny and an exceptional team to bring Apptio into every organization worldwide,” van Deth said in a statement.

Apptio has been growing since private equity firm Vista Equity Partners officially acquired the Bellevue, Wash.-based firm as part of a $1.9 billion deal in January. Part of that boost came from Apptio’s purchase of cloud spending startup Cloudability in May.

“Rigado is solving real problems for large customers and I am excited to repeat this success at greater scale,” Riley said in a statement. Rigado is headquartered in Portland, Ore.
