The GeekWire Gala is coming up on Thursday, Dec. 5, in downtown Seattle. While the glamorous winners of the Geek Style Reboot walk the red carpet, we’re also looking forward to seeing the tacky, ugly, geeky, festive or simply over-the-top entries in our second annual “Ugly Sweater” contest, presented by Alaska Airlines.

Some festive bells, quick knitting, a control box and an audio recording came together for last year’s winning entry: A talking ugly Christmas sweater.

This year the stakes are even higher — 35,000 feet higher! That’s right, this year’s winner will receive two roundtrip tickets to anywhere that Alaska Airlines flies.

To enter, first you need to attend the event. So get your tickets here, or below. Then wear your ugliest sweater or most unbelievably festive holiday attire to the GeekWire Gala. So, what are you waiting for? Jump into your closet, the costume box, or nearest thrift store and find the most festive outfit you can imagine.

Secret elves will be scouting the crowd for the most festive holiday gear or ugliest sweater at this year’s GeekWire Gala on the evening of Dec. 5. We will select three finalists to come on stage, and we’ll ask the audience to help choose the ultimate winner.

Of course, even if you are not rocking an ugly sweater, you can still join us for the GeekWire Gala, the geekiest holiday party on the planet. Grab your tickets here or below. Group rates available for five or more attendees, so bring your co-workers, friends or the entire company, and make the GeekWire Gala your holiday party.

A big thanks to GeekWire Gala presenting sponsor, First Tech Federal Credit Union.

Also, thanks to gold sponsor West River Group; silver sponsors Moz, Alaska Airlines, Bader Martin and Nordstrom; and supporting sponsor ALLtech Health Benefits.
