Dust off those ping pong paddles, get the foosball training going, and form your dodgeball teams — another GeekWire Bash is fast approaching.

We’re gearing up for the eighth annual GeekWire Bash, presented by First Tech Federal Credit Union, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 7 at the CenturyLink Field Event Center. This event is like a Winter Olympics for geeks — a spirited competition, but also just a fun party that lets people step away from the computer screen and connect with friends new and old.

Early-bird tickets are on sale now here, including tickets to the ping pong, foosball, dodgeball and Settlers of Catan tournaments.

We’re especially excited for this year’s event, as we welcome not only hard-working folks from the Seattle tech community, but their families, too!

Yep, that’s right: for the first time, kids can attend the Bash and we’ll have activities targeted for kids 5 and up. We’ll debut a new Junior Geek Zone and feature participants from FIRST Washington Robotics competing in a GeekWire Robotics Cup.

We’re also introducing a new doubles ping pong tournament, in addition to intermediate and expert singles brackets. The intermediate and expert foosball tournaments will return, as will a dodgeball championship that has produced epic matches in past years between various Seattle companies. (Note: each dodgeball team must have a 50/50 gender mix, and players are not able to participate in multiple tournaments.)

Don’t waste time. Our tournament slots for ping pong, dodgeball and foosball always sell out well in advance — head here to sign up and see more details.

If you’re not interested in participating in one of the organized tournaments, don’t worry. We’ve got a host of fun activities in store that will fulfill your inner geekiness, from virtual reality to video games. And of course, plenty of tasty food and cold drinks will be available.

Last year, nearly 1,500 people attended the Bash (see highlights here), and we’re expecting an even bigger crowd this year with new activities. We hope you’ll come celebrate with us on March 7!

A big thanks to this year’s title sponsor: First Tech Federal Credit Union. Also, thanks to T-Mobile, the dodgeball tournament sponsor, and Avalara, the ping pong tournament sponsor.
