TINYpulse had the drive to beat Convoy.

The Seattle startup that offers technology to assess employee morale is assessing how good it feels a week after winning the co-ed softball championship in the fourth season of Seattle’s IT Sports League. TINYpulse beat Convoy, the startup that develops technology to match truck drivers with shippers, 10-9 at Queen Anne Playfield on Aug. 1.

Convoy was 9-0 after the regular season and TINYpulse finished 8-1 among 10 teams. In the playoffs, Convoy beat Sprout Social 18-12 and TINYpulse beat Adobe 14-13 to set up the championship game.

It took a sliding catch in foul territory by TINYpulse left fielder Kyle Petersson in the bottom of the seventh inning to preserve the victory. The catch was caught on video:

TINYpulse also needed a walk-off, three-run home run from Jennifer Baron to beat Adobe in the semifinals. That play was also captured on video:

“This season was a blast,” TINYpulse captain Kavan Davis told GeekWire. “We had some TINYpulsers who have played three years running, and some who’d never swung a bat before. It’s great to bring this trophy home, but we didn’t have to win to have this be a great part of our employee experience! The IT Sports League offers a special way for us to connect with each other outside of work. The competition and connection with other Seattle tech workers is something we look forward to every year. We’re looking forward to defending this in 2020!”

In the third-place game, Adobe beat Sprout Social, 1-0.

League organizer Steve Mayeda started the Information Technology Sports League with the purpose of promoting camaraderie, competition, health and wellness within the tech industry.

Each season features one sport: softball (summer), dodgeball (fall), basketball (winter) and volleyball (spring). Dodgeball begins Sept. 9.
