The superhero mega-hit “Black Panther” isn’t just leaving its mark on the box office record books. The film is hashtagging its way to history on Twitter, too.
Director Ryan Coogler’s film, which passed the $600 million milestone in domestic earnings this weekend, has generated more than 35 million tweets according to Entertainment Weekly. That amount makes it more discussion-worthy than the previous record holders, Star Wars flicks “The Force Awakens” and “The Last Jedi.”
EW offered more insights from Twitter on the social media phenomenon: the most-used “Black Panther”-related hashtags are #BlackPanther, #WakandaForever, and #Wakanda.
Rapper Kendrick Lamar’s tweet revealing the soundtrack list for the film is among the most retweeted tweets.

Congrats to the entire #blackpanther team! Because of you, young people will finally see superheroes that look like them on the big screen. I loved this movie and I know it will inspire people of all backgrounds to dig deep and find the courage to be heroes of their own stories.
