Insurance technology company Vertafore is closing its office in the Seattle suburbs, completing a transition to its new headquarters in Denver.
The closure of the office in Bothell, Wash., will impact 53 workers, according to a notice filed by the company with the Washington state Employment Security Department. The company says affected employees will be given the option to relocate to Denver from Bothell.
“Vertafore is a dynamic, growing company in a fast-changing industry so we are constantly evaluating how to develop the best solutions to meet the needs of our customer and partners,” the company said in a statement to GeekWire. “We have decided we can best serve customers by centralizing the work currently being done in part by our team in Bothell at our Denver office. We appreciate the hard-working team in Bothell and value their contributions to the organization so all impacted employees have been offered the opportunity to relocate.”
Vertafore, previously headquartered in Bothell, was acquired in 2016 for $2.7 billion by Bain Capital and Vista Equity Partners Management, and moved its headquarters to Denver last year.
The company traces its roots to 1969. It had grown through a series of acquisitions in recent years, including the purchase Canadian insurance software maker Keal Technology in 2016. At that time, Vertafore employed about 1,300 employees.
