Coworking just became coflying.
Seattle-based coworking space provider The Riveter announced Tuesday that it’s partnering with Seattle-based Alaska Airlines to exchange membership benefits over the coming year.
Among the mutual rewards: complimentary day passes to The Riveter locations will be available to Alaska Airlines elite mileage program members, and complimentary day passes to Alaska Lounge locations at airports will be provided by The Riveter to its members. In addition, Alaska Airlines will provide mileage credits for The Riveter to pass along to its members.
Other projects and collaborations are to be announced. But as a result of this deal, The Riveter and Alaska Airlines are dubbing the air carrier, “The Official Airline of the Future of Work.”
The Riveter, a network of five coworking and community spaces on the West Coast with plans to expand to more cities in 2019, customizes its resources and programs to reflect women’s needs, but is open to all members.
“Our collaboration with The Riveter makes perfect sense as we’re aligned with its mission to provide business workspaces and resources for all with an emphasis on inclusion,” said Karen Wilkins-Mickey, Alaska Airlines’ director of diversity and inclusion, in a statement.
“We couldn’t be happier to work with Alaska Airlines over the coming year,” said Amy Nelson, CEO of The Riveter. “Not only are they blazing a trail with inclusive policies for their employees and customers, but The Riveter community greatly values Alaska as the airline that helps them go wherever they need to be.”
Last year, The Riveter announced another partnership, this one with Poppy, a company that offers on-demand childcare from vetted caregivers. Members of the coworking space became eligible for a free six-month subscription to the service.
The Riveter now has five locations in Seattle and in Los Angeles, with more planned in 2019. It raised $4.75 million in March to help fuel its expansion.
