News Brief: Seattle-based marijuana strain and dispensary resource platform Leafly just opened an office in Baltimore, where it already employs 15 people. The 138-person company operates a website that attracts more than 16 million monthly visits. It has additional offices in Toronto and Berlin. Leafly, which laid off 15 employees in November, is owned by Privateer Holdings, the Seattle-based investment firm that has raised more than $200 million. Another Privateer company, Canada-based Tilray, became the first marijuana producer to go public on a major stock U.S. exchange earlier this month. Canada legalized medical and recreational marijuana last month, with the law going into effect this October.
