Seattle tech consulting firm Avanade and its parent company Accenture are getting new digs.
The companies said Tuesday they will move to a three-story space at the Second & Seneca Building in downtown Seattle this fall. The space totals 61,000 square feet, not much more than Accenture and Avanade have now at the 818 Stewart building in Seattle, but the companies are going for a more contemporary open office space.
Avanade was born out of a joint venture of Accenture and Microsoft. The two companies have a combined 2,100 employees in the Seattle area. Avanade employs about 700 people in the Seattle area.
The new office space will serve as Avanade’s headquarters, where the company will bring in clients from all around the globe. In an interview with GeekWire, Accenture’s Gil Wootton and Avanade’s Chris Miller say they want this office to stand out not just for clients, but also current and prospective employees in the competitive tech hiring environment in Seattle.
The companies turned to global architecture firm Gensler to design the new space.
The companies said the new space will help teams collaborate better and offer clients more services. Wootton said Seattle is one of 10 locations Accenture is investing in and building out new capabilities like digital studios complete with Microsoft Surface Hubs.
In addition to housing Accenture and Avanade, the new office will include space for several companies Accenture has acquired in recent years: design consultancy Fjord and cybersecurity company FusionX. SolutionsIQ, a Redmond, Wash. provider of agile enterprise scaling services and Seattle digital marketing agency Wire Stone will remain in their current spaces.
