Rackspace will move forward under a new CEO, as Taylor Rhodes announced Wednesday he’s leaving the company after three years as CEO and a decade in total at the company. Rhodes said in a blog post that he’s leaving to join an unnamed startup bringing cloud services “to disrupt what has been a very low-tech industry,” and President Jeff Cotten has been promoted to CEO.

Rackspace was relatively early to the notion of public cloud services, but Amazon Web Services became the standard Rackspace had once hoped to be, and the company is now focused on helping others get started on AWS and Azure. It was acquired in a private-equity deal last August.
