There’s something comforting about a familiar voice sharing the news — it’s what has always made television news anchors feel like a part of the family. Could former Vice President Joe Biden be one of those voices?

“Biden’s Briefing” is a new curated podcast effort coming to Amazon Alexa-activated devices, among others, that will feature Biden introducing news stories on a range of topics from news partners such as Bloomberg, Vice, BuzzFeed, HuffPost, MSNBC, Politico and more.

In an introduction to one such briefing on Monday morning, Biden said each edition will “feature articles, essays and posts that made an impression on me and that I want to share with you.”

Biden said the world is changing quickly and now more than ever we need to be better informed, and that allows us all to make better decisions. After his introduction ends, another voice takes up the reading of the particular news article.

As a skill on Alexa, users can activate the service by saying, “Alexa, enable Biden’s Briefing.” The reports are also available on iTunes, Spotify, Google Home and tunein.
