Seattle tech executive Liz Pearce has left LiquidPlanner after more than a decade with the company.

LiquidPlanner announced Pearce’s resignation Thursday morning, and also named her successor: Todd Humphrey, the co-founder and former chief commercial officer of Toronto healthcare startup League. Humphrey — a longtime Seattle area startup veteran who sold Seattle-based CleverSet to ATG in 2008 and later went on to serve as an executive at e-book reader Kobo — started the job earlier this week.

“It is certainly a different challenge, and I am super excited about it,” said Humphrey when asked about joining the 70-person company. Founded in 2006, LiquidPlanner develops online tools that help organizations better manage projects. The company has raised more than $15 million in venture funding from backers such as TVC Capital and angel investor Geoff Entress.

Pearce served as LiquidPlanner’s CEO for over five years, following stints as COO and VP of sales and marketing. Her history with the company actually goes even deeper — she worked with its founders before it launched, as a marketing consultant.

Pearce plans to pursue other interests, the company said. GeekWire has reached out to her for further comment and will update this story when we hear back.

Humphrey joins LiquidPlanner after three years as the chief commercial officer at League, which bills itself as a digital alternative to traditional health insurance. Humphrey, who lives in the Seattle area, led the company’s expansion into the U.S.

He told GeekWire he is excited to take on new challenges and a new industry at LiquidPlanner.

“If I was going to leave League it had to be for an extraordinary opportunity,” he said. “For me, it is an awesome team with a really well-defined product with good revenue today and good runway in front of us.”

LiquidPlanner also announced that the company’s co-founder and former CEO Charles Seybold has returned to take up the chief product officer role. Seybold served as CEO until Pearce took the reins in 2012, then served as CPO until 2015. He’s also on the company’s board of directors.

“LiquidPlanner has always been committed to empowering teams to plan with confidence,” Seybold said in a press release. “I am delighted to have the opportunity to rejoin LiquidPlanner in a role that allows me to focus 100% on our product.”

Pearce may not have announced plans publicly, but she did give GeekWire a clue about what her next move would be in a 2014 Q&A. When asked what she would do if she weren’t in her current role, Pearce simply said: “Starting a new company.”
