The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Facebook teamed up again for #GivingTuesday, the annual global charitable event aimed at raising money for worthwhile causes.

With a plan to match up to $2 million in donations for U.S. nonprofits, the Gates Foundation and Facebook easily met that goal before mid-morning on the West Coast. Donations made through Facebook’s charitable giving tools were matched up to $50,000 per nonprofit or $1,000 per fundraiser or donate button.

Facebook said it would also waive its fees for donations made to nonprofits on the social media site through the end of Tuesday.

Facebook raised $6.79 million via their fundraising platform last year and #GivingTuesday pulled in $168 million worldwide.
