“Manchester by the Sea” was a big win for Amazon. It marked the first time a film owned by a streaming studio won an Oscar. To celebrate that victory and promote the video perks of Prime, Amazon is giving away its $99 per year memberships to the entire population of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass.

The estimated 5,366 residents of the town will eligible for one year of Prime. “Manchester by the Sea,” the film, will be available for Prime members to stream for free this Friday. Amazon is also giving Manchester residents a gift card for its private-label popcorn to enjoy with the flick.

“We wanted customers in the town to enjoy popcorn and a movie on us,” Greg Hart, Amazon’s VP of Video said in a press release. “’Manchester by the Sea’ is a masterpiece representing the best of cinematic storytelling.”

Moonlight, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture, will also be coming to Prime Video May 21.

Analysts estimate Amazon is investing $4.5 billion in video this year to better compete with streaming giants like Netflix and HBO. Amazon bought “Manchester by the Sea” for an estimated $10 million after the film’s well-received Sundance debut.
