EY today announced the 21 finalists for its 2016 Entrepreneur of the Year award competition for the Pacific Northwest.
The list of 21 finalists was released by EY (formerly known as Ernst & Young), which founded the awards program and has held it for three decades. The Pacific Northwest entrepreneurs were selected by a panel of independent judges, based on what EY describes as “excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.”
Winners will be announced at an event at the Seattle Sheraton on June 17. The regional competition is followed by a U.S. and then World Entrepreneur of the Year contest.
Last year, Avvo CEO Mark Britton, Smartsheet CEO Mark Mader, Eagleview Technologies CEO Chris Barrow, Trupanion CEO Darryl Rawlings, Zoom+ CEO Dave Sanders, Treehouse CEO Ryan Carson, and Hydro Flask CEO Scott Allan took home top honors for the Pacific Northwest.
Also at last year’s gala, GeekWire caught up with several finalists to get their take on advice for entrepreneurs who may deal with failure.
