doordash11Yet another restaurant delivery service will soon be available in Seattle.

DoorDash first launched in Washington this past September and spent the past six months serving customers east of Lake Washington in cities like Bellevue, Redmond, and Bothell. Now, the food delivery company is expanding to Seattle.

Starting March 17, DoorDash will serve downtown Seattle and surrounding neighborhoods. It’s unclear which restaurants DoorDash will deliver from, but in a letter to drivers, the company notes that “we will begin delivering from the top restaurants in Seattle.”

DoorDash charges between $4 and $7 for delivery, depending on the region. It operates in more than 20 U.S. cities.

DoorDash joins a long list of food delivery companies operating in Seattle, which include the likes of Peach, Lish, Munchery, Square-owned Caviar, Postmates, Bitesquad, Seamless, GrubHub, Yelp-owned Eat 24, and many others. Uber is also preparing to launch its own restaurant delivery service in Seattle; Amazon also delivers food from restaurants, launching its own service last year.

Many of these startups, DoorDash included, have raised globs of investment and have high valuations — DoorDash is valued at around $700 million, according to The Wall Street Journal. But as The New York Times detailed last month, the startups are also struggling to capture market share as they deal with driver retention and high operating costs.
