Some of the new brands added to the Amazon Dash program today.

Amazon is aiming to get its Dash buttons into more kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms with an expansion of the one-click product purchasing program, announced this morning.

With the expansion, the company says all Prime members will be able to order Dash buttons now, no longer needing an invite. In addition, Amazon rolled out a limited-time promotion that will refund the $4.99 price of the Dash when the button is used for a purchase for the first time.

Amazon also added 11 new brands to the lineup of Dash buttons, for products including trash bags, nutritional supplements and tableware, bringing the total number to 29 brands representing more than 500 products. New brands include Orbit Gum, Hefty Trash Bags, Ziploc, Dixie tableware, and Ice Breakers Mints.

Amazon Dash is a dedicated button that automatically reorders products when pushed. It comes with safeguards including the ability for customers to cancel an order for a period of time after it’s place, and the ability to stop a new order from being submitted until a prior one ships, to help prevent inadvertent ordering.

It’s the physical incarnation of the company’s 1-Click ordering system, and part of Amazon’s ongoing effort to make it as simple and streamlined as possible for people to spend money with Amazon and receive products quickly. The company said today that it has seen an “overwhelmingly positive response” to the Dash buttons from customers and sellers.
