Sony will launch its PlayStation TV set-top gaming and streaming video box in the U.S. and Canada this fall starting at $99, the company announced during its press event at the E3 video game convention this evening.

PlayStation TV, known as the PlayStation Vita TV overseas, will also be available as part of a $139 bundle that comes with a DualShock 3 controller and an 8GB data card, plus an HDMI cable. The PlayStation Vita TV device overseas has received mixed reviews, and enters an increasingly competitive market for streaming devices and set-top boxes, with major players including Apple, Google and Amazon making headway.

The device will play games from the upcoming PlayStation Now streaming game service as well as PS Vita titles. Gamers with the PlayStation 4 can also use the box for remote play of games on another TV in the house.

Here’s a video of the unveiling at the Sony event.
