Not many people have experienced a flight in a Blue Angel. But thanks to a few well-placed hi-def cameras, now you can (sort of).
Using footage from the Navy filmed during Sea Fair earlier this month, Michael Ashton put together an awesome clip that gives you a good idea of what it’s like to fly over Seattle in a Blue Angel F/A-18 Hornet.
The video shows Lieutenant Commander Jim Hiltz in the passenger seat and it’s clear that Hiltz is feeling some serious g-force.
There are some other inside-the-cockpit Blue Angel videos out there, but the footage and angles in this particular one are pretty unique. Plus, it’s pretty cool seeing the jets zip around over Seattle.
