flappybirdfamilyHappy Flappin’ Friday.

As promised, everyone’s favorite addictive bird game is making a comeback — just not the way you probably expected.

Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen today released his latest game, Flappy Bird Family. But for whatever reason, Nguyen only made it available on Amazon’s Android App Store.

“Flappy Birds now are on Amazon Fire TV with incredible new features: Person vs Person mode, more obstacles, more fun and still very hard,” the game description reads. “Enjoy playing the game at home (not breaking your TV) with your family and friends.”

That’s bad news for the iOS and Android owners who became addicted to the original Flappy Bird. Or, perhaps it’s a good thing for those that spent countless hours tapping their smartphone screens.

Why exactly Nguyen only made the new version of Flappy Bird available on the Fire TV is unclear — perhaps he wanted to utilize the Fire TV’s game controller for the multiplayer feature.

Nguyen released Flappy Bird for iOS and Android last year and after the game quickly became insanely popular, Nguyen took it down because it was an “addictive product,” as he told Forbes.

We’ve got an Amazon Fire in our office, so if you don’t see any more posts from us today, you know why. Happy Flappin’, y’all.
