Heads up, Instagram users — you finally have some new filters to play with.
The photography-focused social media giant, which reached 300 million users last week, today unveiled new filters for the first time in two years.
“In December 2012, we added Mayfair and Willow to the Instagram filter family — and a lot has happened in the last two years,” the company wrote. “Photography trends have evolved, and the capabilities of the camera on your phone have vastly improved. We’ve seen tremendous creativity within the community, not only in the moments they share, but in the time spent carefully composing and editing photos and videos to bring out emotions and make them beautiful.”
The five filters — Slumber, Crema, Ludwig, Aden and Perpetua — “soften and subtly shift colors to achieve the look and feel you want for your each photo,” Instagram said.
The Facebook-owned company also added a few new features to its app. Users can now upload slow-motion video, adjust a photo’s perspective, and have a personalized tray of filters. When picking a filter, users will also notice new filter icons at the bottom of the screen showing a blurred preview of their photo. Finally, Instagram added real-time commenting.
The new filters are available now for iOS and Android users. Check them out below:
